Foldable phones have already made their appearance and more are expected to be released in the near future. One of the companies that has not yet officially launched such a phone is LG.
However, the company is said to be planning to release a special foldable smartphone.
In 2015, a design was filed with the USPTO, according to which LG is considering announcing a transparent foldable phone.
The smartphone will fold inwards, like the Samsung Galaxy Fold. When folded, both sides will support transparent mode.
Half of the smartphone will be transparent, while the other half will be completely opaque to cover the battery.
Rumor has it that when the screen transparency level is above 20%, the rear touch sensor will be activated, allowing users to use the phone from both sides.
The foldable smartphone is said to feature two cameras on the back, one of which will function as a laser.
This isn't the first time LG has dabbled in creating a device that's transparent. It already showed off a transparent OLED TV at CES 2019, so the possibility of a foldable smartphone that's also transparent is very possible.
However, the company hasn't even revealed a foldable phone yet, so the launch of a transparent foldable phone may not be in the near future.
Certainly, however, this is a very interesting and advanced idea and many people will be excited about its appearance on the market.
