After three successful EthiHak competitions, SecNews can only continue the largest live-hacking experience that has now become an institution, for the fourth consecutive year with the support of Infocom Security, the largest cyber security conference in Greece. Are you ready for battle?
HackTheBox (HTB) ( https://ctf.hackthebox.eu/ethihak/register ) is responsible for setting up the competition and promises you an unforgettable experience.
Preparations have already begun and are continuing at a feverish pace, as the biggest hacking event of the year will take place on April 17-18, 2019, at the Dais exhibition center as part of Infocom Security.

This year, the EthiHak competition will also serve as a qualifying competition for the establishment of this year’s national team within the framework of ECSC 2019. (ecsc.gr).
Of course, there is a place for each of you in EthiHak 2019! The ECSC 2019 team, which will travel to Bucharest, Romania, to compete in this year’s ECSC, will be staffed by individuals aged 14-25. For more information about the ECSC competition and the Greek Cybersecurity Team, click here.
The final ten that will be determined by the score in the EthiHak competition will not necessarily be the final ten that will train in the National Team, which will be determined by the total number of National Team training sessions.
With your support, our vision became a reality and so for another year, professionals and non-professionals, hackers, security researchers, and even ordinary fans will have the opportunity to compete against multiple live targets, testing their skills.
EthiHak was born with the aim of allowing all security enthusiasts to practice applying attack tools against real targets!
Furthermore, we all hope that EthiHak will contribute to informing and raising public awareness about modern threats, security vulnerabilities , and the means used by now-powerful hackers to bypass security systems.

EthiHak CTF – a few words
- There will be a scoreboard that will be visible online and updated real-time based on the contestants' performance.
- The CTF will not be a single challenge but a set of challenges that will be scored and evaluated separately.
- Registration for participation is done online, at the following link: https://ctf.hackthebox.eu/ethihak/register
- The challenges will not be of progressive difficulty, nor will it be required to follow a conventional approach to their solution, without this meaning that they cannot be solved with such.
- Even after the final scoring on the scoreboard at the end of the exercise, 1st place will be awarded to the person who received the highest score on the scoreboard.

Registration Process: In order for the registration to be accepted, you must provide VALID information (during your registration) in order to be accepted by the administrators. This means that after checking your information, the registration will be accepted and the user's name will appear on the portal scoreboard.
ATTENTION: Users will be identified by name and username on the day of Ethihak. Participants should be there at 09:00 because the party starts at 10:00 exactly!!
EthiHak 2019 Competition Process
To win the coveted first place, the following rules must be followed:
- One Rule: No Rules – No hints! (Think out of the box!).
- Useful information will be provided at the start of the script, on Wednesday 17/4 at 10:00 exactly!
- Respect for the rules of good behavior should be strictly observed : Respect fellow participants, as you would like them to respect you (e.g. No DDoS , no rioting/hooliganism, etc.). In case of inappropriate behavior, there will be exclusion from the competition as the space will be constantly monitored by the conference staff.
- Any attack (physical or electronic) on another company / body / organization / natural and/or legal person of any kind, domestic / foreign, etc. other than the given target company is EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED. Violators will suffer the consequences of the law and the co-organizing companies have no responsibility.
- Participation in the competition will be from the premises. However, there will be the right to participate outside the premises. The difference will be that those competing within the premises will have a clear lead in points.
- At this point, we should mention that our underage participating friends are required to have written parental consent to receive the cash prize of 1000 euros, if they are crowned winners.
TERMS OF PARTICIPATION IN THE EthiHak CONTEST
- The right to participate in the competition is exclusively for natural persons. Employees of the company HackTheBox, Smartpress and the technology information site Secnews.gr
- The duration of the competition is from 17/04/2019 10:00 – 17:00 and 18/04/2019 10:00 – 14:00, where the committee will decide the final winner.
- A valid entry is considered one that contains all the fields of the form correctly completed.
- The winners will be awarded on 18/04/2019 after the end of the competition and will be published on Social Media and on the Smartpress websites of HackTheBox and Secnews.gr.
- Personal data is prohibited from being transferred to third parties.
- Participation in the live EthiHak Competition is FREE !
- Maximum number of participants 80.
