After Samsung and Huawei introduced foldable smartphones , OPPO will soon join the fray, as revealed in images posted on Weibo. However, the company wants to see enough demand before it can officially launch its foldable device.
According to the images, OPPO's future foldable smartphone will adopt the design of the Huawei Mate X, which folds outwards and turns into a smaller device.
The images further indicate that the device will have a thin frame, which will nevertheless be quite visible. Additionally, when folding the device it will have a dual-camera module with LED flash and the company's logo on its side.
Thus, the rear camera can also be used as a selfie camera when the device is folded. However, other details regarding the smartphone remain unknown.
As OPPO says, it will wait for the public's response and will decide later whether it will ultimately proceed with the launch of the folding smartphone, so we will have to wait until something official is announced by the company.
For the record, OPPO, at the current MWC 2019, presented its first 5G smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and 10x lossless optical zoom technology.
