Apple 's software updates have been a mixed bag: on the one hand, they can speed up your phone, increase battery life, and add hundreds of new emojis to your keyboard, and on the other, they can slow everything down and stop your phone from working in less than two hours. An example of the latter, however, might be Apple's iOS 12.1.3 update , which is undoubtedly causing problems for many users.
Possibly you remember that iOS 12.1.2 caused many problems for Apple users in December 2018. Many people lost the ability to use cellular data, while others could not use LTE on 3G. Thus customers eagerly awaited the iOS 12.1.3 update when it was released in January 2019, hoping it would “provide fixes”, however things got much worse especially for those who have iPhone X, XR, XS and XS Max.
Most users who were experiencing these problems were users with a Sprint phone plan.
According to Forbes, the latest Apple update appeared to affect mainly Sprint users. The affected users expressed their disappointment on Twitter.
On Wednesday, January 23, after the turmoil, Sprint officially apologized on Twitter, saying that an update would fix the issue. Sprint representatives told Elite Daily that the company was already trying to resolve the problem, simultaneously apologizing for the inconvenience.
A Sprint spokesperson said:
Yesterday some Sprint customers may have experienced some service issues after one of the scheduled device updates the previous night. Our teams worked quickly to address the problem and automatically notified the affected devices. Customers were able to expedite the process by restarting their device. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience.
The various problems caused by the iOS 12.1.3 update apparently did not affect only Sprint users, according to Forbes. In fact, AT & T users were also affected. The company did not make any official announcement. Some Twitter users, however, confirmed that they are experiencing similar problems.
However, it is reported that all issues have now been resolved.
