There's also a better way to see how your data usage is split between apps. In the "Data and storage usage" menu, you can view data totals and see how much data you're using on things like calls, media, and even roaming traffic.
You’ll also be able to see how much you’re uploading to Google Drive if you have backups enabled. This is very useful because these backups can get large and can use up a lot of data on your network. WhatsApp backups are still “free” on Google Drive, so you don’t need to worry about that.
Some regions also get a menu option called “payments.” If you’re in one of those regions, you might want to check if the company is running this system for you. It allows you to use WhatsApp as a payment method.
Overall, this update aims to make WhatsApp more user-friendly. The settings menu now has improvements that will reduce the time you spend searching for the option you need.
Each section in the menu now explains which submenus it contains. “Account,” for example, explains that it contains “privacy,” “security,” and “change number.” It also includes additional options, such as two-factor authentication.
