Fossil launches new Sport smartwatch

Fossil has announced its first smartwatch called the Fossil Sport Smartwatch that features a Snapdragon 3100 and Google's upgraded OS, according to the Verge.

The new smartwatch features an integrated speed sensor and a 350mAh battery that promises to last a full day, as well as NFC and GPS capabilities. The NFC and GPS capabilities in the watch are said to have been improved from the previous generation of the watch.

Fossil's new smartwatch is one of the first Wear OS devices to debut with Qualcomm. The Qualcomm chip is supposed to offer longer battery life.

Other features that users can look forward to are Google Assistant and Google Pay.

The Sport smartwatch is available in six different colors, such as gray, pink, red, blue, green, and black. The smartwatches come in two sizes, 41mm and 43mm. There are also 28 silicone straps that are water‑resistant and interchangeable.

The Fossil Sport Smartwatch costs $255 and is currently available only in the United States.

Earlier this year, the watchmakers launched two new smartwatches called Fossil Q Venture HR and Q Explorist HR. The watches, which came in two different sizes, had similar features to the new Fossil Sport smartwatch, including GPS and NFC capabilities, Google Pay, as well as heart rate monitoring.
