Microsoft: Confirms two bugs in Windows 10 with KB4462933 installed

As most of us know, Microsoft released cumulative update KB4462933 on October 24th, bringing improvements and fixes to systems running Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803).

And while no problems were initially identified with this update, Microsoft has revealed some issues you may encounter after installation, confirming two different bugs in Windows 10.

First of all, a bug may be breaking the Developer Tools in Microsoft Edge. The launch menu may no longer work, according to Microsoft, but users can fix this issue on their own until a proper patch is released.

Windows 10

First error:

On Windows 10 x64, to restore Developer Tools, you must log in with an administrator account and then delete the following file:

C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdgeDevToolsClient_8wekyb3d8bbwe\microsoft.system.package.metadata\Autogen\JSByteCodeCache_64

On Windows 10 x86, you need to delete the following file and then restart the browser:

C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdgeDevToolsClient_8wekyb3d8bbwe\microsoft.system.package.metadata\Autogen\JSByteCodeCache_32

Second error:

The second error occurs after installing the August Preview of Quality Rollup or September 11, 2018 .NET Framework update.

There is also a workaround and you can find all the steps to automatically resolve the problem on the official Microsoft website.

Microsoft is preparing to release a new set of cumulative updates as part of the November 2018 Patch Tuesday offering further fixes, including the issues we mentioned above. The rollout will begin next Tuesday, November 13.
