Foursquare, one of our favorite social media platforms, announced today that it will soon be partnering with Tripadvisor. The two apps, which offer services related to finding places, restaurants, cafes and other popular destinations based on user reviews, are starting a new partnership.

Tripadvisor will use Foursquare's Pilgrim SDK, which was released in March 2017, to help users get more information about the time they are at a specific location.
Since the beginning of the use of Foursquare, there have been more than 13 billion check-ins, which together with analytics show the enormous use of the application and that users have a preference for using it based on always-on location sharing. For this reason, the application notifies the user with new suggestions every time the location changes.
The Pilgrim SDK combined with Foursquare's services enables other applications to communicate with users based on their relevancy and location. This is exactly the functionality that Tripadvisor is trying to integrate into its application and is the reason for their collaboration.
Tripadvisor, by revamping its app and official site, began to focus on social-sharing and the personal preferences and ratings of each user. Foursquare praised Tripadvisor for its aforementioned move, advising it to always verify user reviews so that data and information remain accurate.
With over half a billion users, it is estimated that Tripadvisor will be particularly helped by its partnership with Foursquare.
