Microsoft: After Windows 10, Office 2019 is also more expensive

Microsoft recently made Windows 10 more expensive for its consumers on the other side of the Atlantic, and now the company is doing the same for its Office 2019 productivity suite.

microsoft office 2019 more expensive

While the price of the Home Office and Student edition of Office 2019 remained unchanged at $149.99, consumers have to pay 9% more for the Home & Business edition compared to what they spent for Office 2016.

That version now costs $249.99, up from $229.99. The most expensive version is still Office 2019 Professional, and that's also the version that saw the biggest price increase of 10%. Consumers now have to pay $439.99 for Office 2019 Pro, up from $399.99 for Office 2016 Pro.

While Microsoft didn't explain exactly why it's raising Office prices, the move was announced earlier this year and is believed to be an effort to push more consumers towards Office 365.

Compared to Office 2019, Office 365 comes with a subscription service and is regularly updated with new features. Office 2019, on the other hand, will not have any new features, and updates will only be aimed at fixing bugs and addressing security vulnerabilities.

Earlier this month, Microsoft raised the prices of Windows 10 in the United States, with the Home edition now selling for $139.99, up from $119.99. On the other hand, the Pro edition is still available for $199.99, just like before.

There is a possibility that by increasing prices, Microsoft also wants to steer consumers towards the Pro version of the operating system that comes with many additional features.

It remains to be seen whether this price increase will also affect our country in the near future.
