Microsoft recently removed some fake Google Chrome in the Bing browser that could potentially contain malware.
The issue was brought to light by developer Gabriel Landau, who reported it to Microsoft last week. Essentially, while searching for Google Chrome on Bing, he came across ads that led to malicious websites.
One of the links he pointed out was googleonline2018.com, which Microsoft Edge and Bing were the only ones not to flag as dangerous. Google Chrome, in contrast, has blocked access to the page, warning users of the potential risks when accessing the site.

Microsoft, following this report, has in turn removed the malicious ads while asking users to continue reporting such content to provide a safer search experience.
As expected, many are accusing Microsoft of intentionally allowing fake Google Chrome ads in order to promote its own browser.
While this theory is unlikely, Microsoft has used controversial tactics in the past to convince users to try the Edge browser, including pop-ups that appeared on the desktop.
For now, you can continue to use Bing and Edge as normal, but we would recommend that you be careful about which links you click on the search results page.
