According to a report from WindowsLatest, we are soon going to witness new Microsoft smartphones running Android. An article published on WindowsLatest states that a Microsoft employee claimed that the company is working on a “new line of phones. ”
The speculation was based on a discussion published in the article, where a Microsoft employee said: “We’re going to create a new line of phones for Microsoft. It’s a new version of our phones. The only thing that’s certain is that they’ll run on Android.”
Recent Android app releases from Microsoft, including the Edge browser and Microsoft Launcher, further fuel the speculation. In addition to apps, Microsoft has also launched several services for the Android platform, such as Microsoft Graph and Windows Timeline.
After a failed attempt with Windows Mobile, Microsoft is looking for alternative methods to enter the Smartphone market and smartphones running Android could be the solution. With a plethora of apps available, the company could easily launch a phone that offers a suite of apps.
However, this report does not confirm that a Microsoft smartphone with Android could soon become a reality and nothing has been made official, while the company official also did not mention anything about the specifications of the rumored phones.
According to several previous reports, Microsoft is planning to launch a dual-screen foldable pocket device codenamed Andromeda.
