In many ways, these days it seems like the annual CES show in Las Vegas is where the tech consumer goes to go crazy (in a good way!). Weird wearables? Temporary tattoo printers? All the big names like Apple, Microsoft, and Google have largely abandoned this event as a place to unveil major products, relying instead on their own events to do so.
However, Samsung may be changing all that. According to VentureBeat, the South Korea-based manufacturer is set to unveil its latest revolutionary Galaxy S smartphone series at next year's CES, in just a few months.
The publication says the new phones will share the same Infinity curved Super AMOLED displays as the previous models. However, the S9+ is said to have 6GB of RAM – while the S9 will have 4GB.
Want more exciting news? The phones are supposedly keeping the headphone jack. That's good. There's also a rumored second rear camera on the 9+.
In particular, Samsung has planned to hold an event in March, which is expected to serve as the official launch of its phones.
While the numerous technological breakthroughs showcased at CES each year are entertaining, the majority of them are easily forgotten and have no real impact on consumers' lives. Samsung's new smartphones will give the event a new boost, and we couldn't be happier about it.
