Instagram has created a new three-second video format that changes everything.
It's called Superzoom, and it just launched today on Instagram's apps. The feature lets you record three-second videos with a "dramatic" zoom, perfect for memes and dramatic story posts.
Sitting alongside Boomerang, live video, and video rewind in Instagram's in-app camera, Superzoom is the app's latest way to record videos, which you can send directly to your story or to your friends via a disappearing message.
It records a three-second video, which zooms in extremely close in whichever direction the camera is pointing.
Like Boomerangs, the new format can take a little experimentation to get right, as clips are limited to three seconds at a time. But once you get the hang of it, three-second Superzoom videos are a top-notch meme-making option.
In other areas of the app, Instagram also added a set of Halloween-related face filters so you can dress yourself up for the holiday.
