Google isn't done with the Pixel line of Chromebooks and has decided to bring it back with the release of a new model called the Pixelbook.
Despite the high quality of Google Pixel laptops, the company decided to discontinue this product line. They were too expensive, and there were never enough of them in stock.
For a while, it seemed like Google was done with the Pixel line and people had moved on. In any case, all Chromebook-style devices seem to have fallen out of favor, despite the fact that many hardware manufacturers had great prices for them.
From the looks of it, the new Pixelbook from Google is going to be a 2-in-1 solution with a pen, which makes sense given the operating system it runs on. With that in mind, the Pixelbook will come in three variants, which are 128GB ($1,199), 256GB ($1,399), and 512GB ($1,749).
The fact that the screen can be separate from the keyboard and used as a tablet is a definite plus, although it usually means it will also be a bit heavy. The report on droid-life.com also mentions that the pen isn't exactly cheap.
If you want to get that nice pen, you'll have to shell out another $99. The prices, as you can see, are pretty steep. If Google wanted to keep the Pixel line or gain some new customers, this is definitely not the way to do it.
There's no indication of an official launch date, but it's expected to arrive alongside the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on October 4. And that's the launch date when customers will be able to buy it online.
