The Debian Project has just announced the first update to the stable Debian 9 distribution (codenamed “stretch”).
The first update adds mainly security fixes, along with some fixes for serious issues that were noticed since the first version 9.
The security fixes have already been released separately.
Keep in mind that the point release is not a new version of Stretch, according to the distribution's developers, but only updates some of the included packages. So there's no need to throw away your old Stretch ISOs.
After installation, packages can be upgraded to current versions using one of the Debian Project's updated mirrors.
Those who frequently install updates from security.debian.org will not need to update many packages as most updates are included in the point release.
The new installation ISOs will be available soon in the regular repositories.
Upgrading an existing installation to this revision can be achieved by adding one of the Debian Project's many updated HTTP mirrors to your package management system.
So if you want to be the first to upgrade before all the distribution's repositories receive the update, you can add one of the updated mirrors.
