iPhone for 10 Years: Ten years ago in January 2007 inside the Moscone Center of San Francisco, Steve Jobs announced: “today we will make history”.

the existing market forever.

Steve Jobs announced the new iPhone at around 9:40 AM, saying that Apple would introduce three products: an iPod, a phone, and an Internet communicator. He then said that all three devices would be combined into one device called the iPhone.
The device was not the first to have a camera. It was not the first to offer the ability to install apps, although initially there was no App Store. However, it was the first three-in-one: phone, computer, and iPod all together. The design with a single central operation button in the middle of the phone, as well as the innovative touch technology, was very pioneering for its time.
The new device was innovative and, as was natural, many followed, copying or adding onto Steve Jobs' original idea. Since then up to today many things have happened. From the first version of it to today many changes have been made to the smartphone.
A significant change was the introduction of the App Store, as well as the different versions of the device that over the years began to appear in various sizes.
Let's recall the “innovative” features of the iPhone of that era:
The first generation of the iPhone had a price that reached up to $599. It weighed 136 grams and featured pioneering specifications for its time, and now outdated:
Processor at 400 MHz, 128 MB RAM, 2 Megapixel camera, 3.5‑inch screen with a resolution of 320×480. The device offered up to 16 Gigabyte storage. It operated on AT&T's EDGE network, instead of the faster 3G. (3G arrived later).
In 2008 the second iPhone arrived: the iPhone 3G, with a black‑and‑white plastic cover on the back. With this version the App Store also appeared
In 2009 the 3GS came, improved in all functions, but without any particular advancement.
In 2010 the iPhone 4, was quite different design‑wise, with a rectangular shape and stainless steel frame of the device. With this version the first complaints started. Many claimed that the signal was weakening.
In 2011, with the 4S, came the ability to record HD video along with the world's first digital assistant Siri.
The iPhone 2012 was the 5th model in the series, and came with a larger iPhone. It was a sign that the company was also concerned with competition, something that was not there at the beginning. The complaints this time came about Apple Maps, which simply pointed somewhere else.
In 2013 two models were introduced. The 5S was introduced with Touch ID, and the cheaper 5C.
In 2014 the iPhone 6 was released in two versions. The regular one with a 4.7‑inch screen and the iPhone 6 Plus with a 5.5‑inch screen.
In 2015 the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were introduced, which did not contain any innovation.
In 2016 the iPhone 7 came again in two versions. The device offers water resistance, but also portrait mode. Portrait mode gives the ability (with the phone's second camera) to take photos with depth.
Apple is now the most valuable company in the world, but after ten years the messages from the markets do not always agree.
Apple announced that its iPhone was its most popular product in 2017. The company sold over 50 million iPhones in the first quarter of 2017, making it $33.2 billion richer.

To avoid being misunderstood I am an iPhone user and I am very satisfied with the device. Two years ago I didn't buy the 6S but this year I didn't get the 7 Plus. Let's not forget that the iPhone made Apple the most valuable company in the world.
