10 Years of iPhone: Where is the boat going?

10 Years of iPhone: Ten years ago on June 29, 2007, inside the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Steve Jobs announced: “today we will make history.” It was the beginning of the presentation of a product that would forever change the existing market.

Steve Jobs announced the new iPhone at around 9:40 AM, saying that Apple would introduce three products: an iPod, a phone, and an Internet communicator. He then said that all three devices would be combined into one device called the iPhone.

A lot has happened since then. But after ten years of new iPhones, something seems to be amiss.10 Years of iPhone

Here are excerpts from our previous publications:

2015: Copycats in the tech world are normal, even expected, but during Apple's Developers Conference on Monday, Tim Cook and company rather disappointed.
Until now, Apple has established itself in the minds of the consumer public as a pioneering company that creates completely new things. For example, during Jobs' reign, it created the smartphone with the mp3 player, which greatly elevated them in the eyes of the buying public. But this year, nothing resembled a significant upgrade in applications and services.

2016: Apple's corporate winning streak has reached record levels. With 14 consecutive years of revenue growth, the company can boast of its dominance in the technology sector, among very strong rivals.
But the company will likely confirm that this streak has come to an end when it officially announces its fourth-quarter earnings tomorrow. For the 2016 fiscal year, which ended on September 30, analysts' estimates predict that Apple will reveal $215.67 billion in annual revenue, while in fiscal year 2015 it announced $233.72 billion

Jobs' Apple seems to be history. The new Apple, as a company led by Tim Cook, continued to enjoy the glories and brand recognition that Jobs created.

A brand name intertwined with innovation, smart products, and design that was ahead of its time.

In the era of Tim Cook, is innovation called Apple Watch, iPhone SE, or rose gold?

Apple should stop being Jobs' child and become the mother of new innovative products that will make it regain its former glory. (Isn't the story reminiscent of today's Greece?)

Otherwise? Unfortunately, the numbers are relentless..

Yesterday we published the article Xiaomi Mi 6 breaks records in AnTuTu benchmark. Now there are other interesting devices for those who want a high-end device and the upcoming Xiami Mi 6 is just one example.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an iPhone user and I'm very happy with the device. Last year I didn't buy the 6S but this year I didn't get the 7 Plus.

Let's hope that the upcoming 2017 iPhone will make a difference. The company had promised it to its customers. Meanwhile, shareholders are watching from the sidelines..

For those who want to remember the moment the first iPhone was presented, here is the video from 2007:
