Bing's smart bots will change the way you search forever.
Bots are Microsoft's latest favorite activity, with the company constantly investing in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies
One of the new AI features that the company introduced to its search engine, hoping to forever change the way we search the web, is chat bots.
Bots appear on Bing's search results page and can be used to interact with businesses – without requiring any human interaction on the part of the companies.
Users searching the web for businesses, such as restaurants, shops, catering venues, etc., can click on the “Chat” option to connect with an available bot and immediately receive any information they need.
Microsoft today presented a demo of this new technology, introducing a bot into its search engine that provided information about a restaurant in Seattle.
The bot is still available and you can try out its capabilities by chatting with it. The conversation takes place on a Skype platform, through the Bing search results page. So, search the US version of the browser with the keyword “Moonsoon Restaurant Seattle” and chat with the bot.
Although this particular feature is still in the experimental stage, Microsoft hopes, with this move, to revolutionize browsing, introducing a smart and alternative way of browsing the web.
We can only wait and see how this technology will evolve.
