As we all know, Honor and released the Honor 8 last year now photos of its successor, the Honor 9, have surfaced online. The images reveal a device with a design similar to the company's flagship Xiaomi Mi 6 which it announced a few days ago, thus leaving a hint of doubt about the authenticity of the Honor 9 images.
The first element that makes us question the authenticity of the images is that the smartphone depicted is in blue with a glossy back panel, strikingly similar to the Xiaomi Mi 6. Also, the front is almost identical to that of the flagship as it includes the home button, earpiece and camera in exactly the same position.
It's worth noting, however, that last year's Honor 8 has a design similar to the one seen in recent images, except for the bottom of the front panel. Specifically, the Honor branding is located at the bottom of the front, while the home button is located on the back.
So if Honor decides to move the home button to the front, it will have to remove the “Smart Key.” The “Smart Key” allows users to program the button to perform various actions such as saving screenshots, activating the flashlight, or even launching an app.
Another detail we can see from the images is the dual-camera and LED flash on the back. The location of the side buttons is the same as that of the Honor 8.
Let's also not forget that the Honor 8 Pro was recently released under the Honor V9 brand, so it might be too early to hear about the Honor 9.
