T-Mobile starts pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung's latest flagship smartphone is set to launch next week, but it looks like at least one US carrier is planning to start shipping pre-ordered devices. T-Mobile has just informed its customers that they can expect to receive their pre-ordered Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices starting April 19.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on T-Mobile went live late last month, and the two smartphones will be released in the US on April 21. Three days before that, T-Mobile customers can expect to receive their orders.

T-Mobile said it has already started packing customer orders, and some may even see their credit cards charged. T-Mobile is on pace to be the first U.S. carrier to put the Galaxy S8 in customers' pockets, at least two days after the official launch.

This isn't the first time T-Mobile has made such a move, with the US also shipping pre-orders for the Galaxy S7 a week ahead of its release date last year. A recent report also indicated that Galaxy S8 customers in Canada will receive their orders starting April 17. Canadians who pre-ordered Samsung's flagship from Telus, Rogers, Videotron, and Bell will be able to get their hands on the device earlier than others.

While the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will arrive early in the US, they won't feature voice command capabilities for the virtual assistant Bixby. Samsung announced that the Bixby Voice launch was delayed, likely due to English-related voice recognition issues.
