The official Formula 1 app for Windows devices received an update today that paves the way for 2017.
Remaining a universal app, Formula 1 comes with support for computers and mobile devices running Windows 10, and according to the Windows Store, support for Windows Phone 8.1 is not offered.
The “lineup” feature remains the same, meaning you can view live race standings, the latest news and videos, post-race highlights, schedules, team and driver standings completely free of charge.
On the other hand, the annual or monthly subscription offers you even more, including all official F1 session schedules, live broadcast of tire and pit stop information via interactive 3D maps with driver tools, speeds, dashboard, text commentary as well as radio broadcasts.
Those who want premium access can obtain it directly through the application as the Windows 10 client has a UI through which you can automatically become subscribers.
"Get access to the app's high-demand content through an annual or monthly subscription. Subscription is charged according to your country of residence and will appear in the app before payment is completed," the app description states.
The Windows version features the same “lineup” of features as Android and iOS , so Formula 1 users don't need to switch to a different platform to enjoy their favorite race.
It is worth noting that the number of developers who keep all applications in sync is rapidly decreasing, mainly because most of them do not find any reason to code for Windows phones since more and more users are abandoning them.
