Anonymous , this time to complete the #OpIcarus attack campaign they launched in 2016 against the central banks of various countries.
The first stop of #Oplcarus_2017 is the official website of the Central Bank of Albania (www.bankofalbania.org) , which this morning was forced to remain offline for hours due to the powerful attack that led to the collapse of the banking system.
The much-discussed #OpIcarus aims to eliminate state corruption and collusion through a coordinated DDoS attack on their financial institutions. It is noteworthy that the hackers, in their attempt to invite more and more people to participate in the campaign, shared the instructions and available tools for conducting the DDoS attack online.
Why are they attacking financial institutions?
According to their official statement, the powerful banking institutions of the states have created a “secret alliance” with the secret services and the arms industries, thus waging wars that are decimating the Middle East and destroying the global economy. Therefore, the fighters for justice have decided to put an end to this practice in the way they know best.
Anonymous has already carried out twelve attacks against international banks to date. Targeted banks include:

- The Guernsey Financial Services Commission
- The Dutch Central Bank
- The Central Bank of the Maldives
- The Central Bank of Kenya
