WikiLeaks tweeted on Tuesday (November 8) that the group was hit by a 24-hour DDoS attack. Thousands of unique IP addresses were involved in the attack

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has denied influencing the outcome of the election in favor of Donald Trump.
«We have been at the mercy of DDoS attacks for the last 24 hours» posted on Twitter by WikiLeaks.
The site visitors received an error message when they tried to click on hacked emails from John Podesta, the campaign chairman of Clinton, which were leaked by the anti-privacy organization. The team had released over 8,000 emails from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton's inner circle.
However, WikiLeaks was restored later, but no further explanation has been provided regarding how large the DDoS attack was or where it originated.
WikiLeaks has been criticized for its attempts to influence the US presidential elections by releasing damaging information about Hillary Clinton. The organization has published thousands of emails that were stolen from DNS officials, but has never released material that has been hacked from Republican accounts. In an online statement, Assange wrote that his organization would have revealed information about Donald Trump if it had.
WikiLeaks has also been accused of colluding with Russia to interfere in the election on behalf of Trump, a charge the group strongly denies. The U.S. government has said Russia was responsible for hacking some of Podesta's private email accounts. Both the site and the Russian government have denied any involvement in the DNS hack.
Whether WikiLeaks tried to influence voters against Clinton is not yet clear, but it appears that the leak had a negative impact on Clinton since Trump became the new President of the USA!
