The Canadian army is testing a technology from the company Spring Loader that allows its soldiers to carry more weight, perform exercises for longer, and better withstand the strain on their knees from parachute drops.
Spring Loaded Technology has signed a contract with the Canadian Department of National Defence, worth $1,129,990, to manufacture and supply a respectable number of hydraulic knee pads strong enough to withstand the pressure required to lift 160 kilograms while wearing said knee pads on each leg.
It's like a car's suspension, but on your body. According to the company's CEO, Colonel Chris Cowper-Smith, the knee pads will be tested by the Canadian military in a variety of missions.
The company Spring Loaded is not only targeting military versions of its technology but also provides commercial versions intended for repairing damage from use in extreme sports. We look forward to it.
