Kaspersky Lab: International Data Corporation (IDC), the independent global analyst firm, examined the market for security solutions for consumer and corporate endpoint devices and then presented a report* based on the data for 2014. According to this report, Kaspersky Lab is growing at a faster pace than the market as a whole.
Globally, revenue for endpoint security vendors grew by a combined 2.6% in 2014, while Kaspersky Lab's revenue grew by 6.5%.
The report shows that global revenues for endpoint security solution providers totaled $9 billion in 2014, with four vendors achieving revenues of more than $700 million. These vendors represent 64% of total revenues.
Kaspersky Lab is one of them, taking fourth place with revenues of $710.6 million. In 2014, the company's revenues grew by 6.5%, with a market share of 7.9%. Kaspersky Lab was also in fourth place in 2013, when its revenues grew by 6.1%, reaching $667 million.
In addition, Kaspersky Lab was named one of the “notable gainers” by IDC due to its growing share of the consumer endpoint security market. Overall, this segment grew a meager 1% worldwide in 2014. However, Kaspersky Lab’s share increased by more than 9%. The low overall growth of this segment of the market is largely due to the decline in PC sales.
Garry Kondakov, Chief Business Officer at Kaspersky Lab, commented:
“We are particularly pleased that IDC has recognized us as one of the “Notable Gainers”. Endpoint security has always been at the core of our business, especially in the consumer and SMB segments. We are committed to continuing to provide the best solutions for these segments. At the same time, in the coming years, we expect the enterprise solutions sector – and in particular the non-endpoint security segment – to be one of the main growth drivers for our company.
Our customers’ needs have changed, driven by the evolving threat landscape and the increase in targeted attacks. Kaspersky Lab’s world-class cybersecurity intelligence capabilities and advanced technologies can help address the most sophisticated threats. In the near future, we will expand our portfolio to enterprise security solutions and services, extending beyond traditional endpoint security, in line with our long-term strategic plan.”.
