Is Facebook planning to charge users $9 as a “gold subscription” to keep their accounts private?
Of course not.
The popular social network does not intend to charge its members.
But the scammers claim something else:
It's official! It's been reported in the media. Facebook has just announced an entry price: £5.99 to keep your status set to "private."
If you paste this message on your page, it is offered for free, if not tomorrow, all your posts will be public. Even deleted messages or photos that you have banned from appearing. After all, it costs nothing for a simple copy and paste.
No, a "simple copy and paste" doesn't cost anything except filling Facebook with fake news.
Facebook has never threatened anyone (even demanding ransom) to display their hidden posts to the general public. In fact, CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stated that the service will always be free.
So if you come across such a message, it would be a good idea to delete or report it instead of copying and pasting it.
Copying and pasting makes absolutely no sense, except that maybe the prankster will see his message spread and laugh.
