Google has just announced a major change to Gmail that aims to combat spam. This major change to the Gmail service will now be available to every end user with a new tool that will record and recognize their behavior. What do we mean?
As Google states, combating the phenomenon of Spam will always be ineffective due to the way each of us interprets Spam.
So the company developed a new artificial neural network to combat spam.
The new AI is derived from the same algorithm used by Google Search and Google Now, and will be unique to each user. It will essentially record each user's behavior and learn their habits (once again, Google records and learns our habits). It will understand which emails it is interested in and which it considers spam.
So, every time you click the “Report spam” or “Not spam” button from now on, you should know that this information will not be lost and that Google will remember each account's preferences separately.
In addition to the new AI, Google's email team also announced Gmail Postmaster Tools, a service for webmasters and businesses.
This new service was developed for demanding email senders (the message displayed on the page is: Be a better sender) and can be used by server administrators to analyze how emails reach their destination.
