Last week, Windows Insiders had the opportunity to try out three different builds of Windows 10 Technical Preview. However, it seems that some users encountered problems as they were unable to activate their operating system.
Microsoft is currently experiencing some issues with the back-end of Windows 10 activation. According to Microsoft, they are currently conducting some testing and it is very likely that activations will fail in the next couple of days. The company urges users to ignore the issue and any message they receive.
The problem will be fixed once the activation service is restored.
While we don't know how widespread the issue is, it appears that those using builds 10159 and 10162 are the ones who first noticed the issue.
Interestingly, there is a newer build available, 10163, which has not yet been released from official sources.
Microsoft seems to be running pretty fast to meet its official release date for Windows 10. We expect the updated version of Windows to be released on July 29, 2015, with major issues. If the company fails to deliver a reliable operating system (something difficult for an operating system built from scratch), there are always updates.
