Developers registered with Apple can download a new beta version of OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 and test whether key issues with Wi-Fi, Mail and VoiceOver have been resolved, according to a message on the company's website.
OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 build 14C81f is the third beta release in this development cycle, which appears to be adding new areas of focus. The first beta had no specific focus, while the second had Wi-Fi testing as its primary focus.
With the release of OS X 10.10.2 build 14C81f, Apple is asking testers to focus their efforts on two additional parts of the operating system besides Wi-Fi. These are Mail and VoiceOver. A total of three focus areas are listed at this time, and the next beta could include even more.
There aren't widespread reports of email or VoiceOver suffering from bugs, but one thing we can confirm is that Mail in Yosemite is noticeably slower than in previous versions of Apple's desktop operating system. That may have something to do with the new Mail features that came with Yosemite this year, including Markup, which brings up annotation tools for images attached to emails.
