The next version of Chrome will bring a very practical feature. It will offer us the option of voice search simply by using the prefix “OK Google.” The new version of Chrome that is still in Beta form contains the new feature, which means we will see it coming with the next stable version of the web browser.
“Have you ever tried cooking and performing a search at the same time – that is, when your hands are covered in flour and you need to know how many ounces you have put in a cup. You understand that such a thing can be very difficult. With the latest Chrome Beta release, you can perform voice search on Google – without the need for typing, without clicking or washing your hands,” says Google on its blog.
During the coming days, Chrome users who have set Google's default language to English or American will be able with an “Ok Google” to ask the browser to search for something.
Until now this was possible by installing a Chrome extension or pressing the microphone button on the search bar, but the feature is not available in Chrome by default.
To enable voice search in Chrome Beta, all you have to do is go to Google.com and tap the microphone button. A card will appear that will allow you to enable “Ok Google.”
