In a press release issued on January 21, the American company Tesla announced the expansion of its electric car charging network in Europe.
Tesla states on its website that it is committed to opening several new electric car charging stations (Supercharger)
in Europe this week
The new stations will open in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Their exact locations are posted on their website.
“These new stations will allow Model S customers to enjoy free, comfortable, 100% electric trips on German highways and to destinations like the Alps and beyond,” Tesla said in a press release.
The company explains in a nutshell that, starting January 21, 2014, 81 new Supercharger stations will be launched around the world, and 14 of them will be located in Europe.
Tesla, in its effort to extol its achievements so far, says it has come a long way since it cut the ribbon on its first six Superchargers in California in September 2012. It estimates that thanks to these facilities, electric vehicles have been able to cover an impressive 11 million kilometers (about 6,830,000 miles). In addition, the energy provided by Tesla's Superchargers has prevented the burning of 1.13 million liters (0.29 million gallons) of natural gas.
