Sheep Marketplace, $6 million in Bitcoins stolen

Yesterday, the Dark Web site Sheep Marketplace, an anonymous digital drug marketplace that became very popular after the shutdown of Silk Road, announced that it had been hacked. According to the site, 5,400 bitcoins, equivalent to $6,000,000 at current prices, were stolen. The site then disappeared, just like the bitcoins.

Sheep Marketplace
The website's administrators announced on their homepage that one of the suppliers, under the pseudonym EBOOK101, had discovered and exploited a bug in the system that allowed him to get the bitcoins.

“The seller discovered a bug in the system and stole 5,400 BTC – your money, our savings, he took it all,” the Sheep Marketplace.

The announcement only mentioned the fact without mentioning anything about the rumors circulating on many websites claiming that it is a scam set up by the administrators themselves.
Distributing money to digital alleys and illegal markets is not the safest thing.
In this anonymous free market, a matrix in essence, there can be no legal recourse for violations. Each user is anonymous and carries out transactions with an anonymous currency. This makes it very difficult for law enforcement authorities to discover the culprits using digital surveillance methods. Of course, the move of the fraudsters behind the theft of 6 million dollars was based precisely on this fact as well as on the fact that the money came from drug trafficking. Who will go to the authorities to report that he was trafficking drugs and their money was stolen?
