A new email that found its way to the inbox of iGuRu.gr, leads to malicious websites that aim to collect personal information. The E-mail had the title: TS2446 “Your apple id has been changed” and urges unsuspecting users to change their password. However, if you explore the links it contains a little, you will discover that the website that will “change” your password is not the official Apple website.
View the e-mail.
The URL that the email refers to leads to a website that uses WordPress and as you understand has nothing to do with Apple. Although the email sending address seemingly belongs to Apple, the message is fake. How is this done? We had mentioned in a previous post that there are several services where you can send emails with any address you want. See here.
We tried to see what the fake website the malicious email was referring us to contained, but Google had detected the phishing before us.
