In difficult times, friends are revealed and that's when you learn who really cares. So, in a time when the US government has shut down, the American people should know who their friends are. A letter from the Pirate Party of Russia proves who cares about America and science in general.
Russia's Pirate Party seems to be unable to tolerate NASA's website being offline. So, as Techdirt reports, the Pirate Party of Russia has decided to take action.
In a letter posted on their Web site, the pirates wrote:
For NASA in the US from the Pirate Party of Russia
Dear ladies/gentlemen,
Because we care about the condition of your website due to the fiscal crisis in the USA, we would like to offer you bulletproof collocation or dedicated servers for hosting your platform until the end of the crisis. We respect privacy protection on the Internet, so you should not worry about programs such as PRISM and other illegal activities of secret services. Your activity and your users' activity will be safe.

Let's not forget that Russia is currently still hosting Edward Snowden when so many countries have decided not to accept him.
Surprisingly, the Russian government has not yet recognized the Pirate Party as a political organization.
