A fake Apple poster has been making the rounds on the internet in recent weeks… “Upgrade to iOS 7 and it will become waterproof.” Some users, naive enough to trust the message, ended up with a damaged device after deciding to put it to the test.
According to information, this message came from the controversial forum “4chan”.
The fake Apple poster says: “In the event of an emergency, a smart switch will shut off power to your phone and its components, preventing damage to your iPhone’s sensitive circuitry.”
And the poster also adds: “waterproofing [with iOS 7] is covered by Apple’s warranty policy.”.
The evil originator of the above message is trying to trick unsuspecting users into believing that iOS 7 actually improves the phone's hardware design. Inexperienced users can easily be fooled, thinking that technology has advanced so much, believing such a seemingly reliable text and conducting a test in their home bathtub!!!.
