We had mentioned in a previous post about the company Terrafugia. In the post of 19.05.2013, the company announced that it has designed and is currently implementing a prototype car that will have the ability to fly and also land and take off vertically.
On its website it states:
TF -X™ is the practical realization of a dream for countless visions of the future to come. It is designed to be the flying car for all of us. To achieve this grand vision, Terrafugia will focus on the TF-X™ project with clear goals to improve the safety, simplicity and convenience of personal transportation.
After all this, the ambitious company released a video of the car's first public flight, which took place at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The vehicle has been classified as a light aircraft by the United States Federal Air Administration (FAA). Technically, it is not a flying car, but an aircraft that can travel on roads and carry a pilot/driver and a passenger.
The new vehicle has been under development for the past seven years and underwent a series of modifications just this year to improve the management instruments.”
The expected price of the Terrafugia TF-X is $279,000, but it has not been announced when it will be released on the market.
