A team of researchers from Harvard University has created a brain-to-brain connection (BBI) that allows humans to control animals with their thoughts.
So far, the brain-to-brain interface for short, BBI has only been tested in mice, but with very high efficiency.
According to ExtremeTech, the interface allowed a human to command a rat to move its tail. The accuracy of the experiment's effectiveness has been estimated at 94%.
It takes about 1.5 seconds for the process. The human looks at a screen and then thinks about what the rat should do. The BBI relays the command and the rat carries it out.
Still, moving a limb is a simple enough command for the researchers' plans to start relaying more complex thoughts, or ideas like hunger.
This particular technology sounds quite scary, since none of us would want our minds and thoughts to be controlled.
