We have recently reported on Microsoft 's involvement in the PRISM scandal, with several details suggesting that the company is helping US intelligence agencies with unrestricted access to user accounts.
In an open discussion held on Ask Me Anything 's Reddit , two members of Microsoft 's SkyDrive management team , Omar Shahine and Mona Akmal, explained that their company doesn't care about the type of files stored in the cloud it provides to its users.
They admitted, however, that all files stored on SkyDrive are automatically scanned for pornographic files, as the company tries to keep consumers away from sharing content that violates the service's Terms of Use.
"We are not interested in your private files. The only exception here is that we have stated a zero-tolerance policy on issues involving child exploitation and so we proactively scan content uploaded to SkyDrive using a technology called PhotoDNA," they said.
Microsoft, as it has stated in the past, does not share its users' data and files with intelligence agencies unless requested, claiming that all files stored in the cloud are encrypted.
