We've seen it before, this time the author is trying to take advantage of the changes coming to Facebook ( Graph Search and not the graphic app) to spread his message.
The new hoax states:
Of course, with the settings given to us by the "master" who is supposedly trying to protect not only himself but also all of Facebook, there is nothing we can do other than adjust how other people's posts will appear on our timeline.
His instructions will not stop Facebook from showing your posts in its search results, since the way he suggests only concerns the user who enters the process of putting it into practice. Again, the same user who followed the hoax's instructions will discover a bunch of results if they perform a search!
We have previously mentioned the operation of Graph Search and have provided detailed instructions with videos on how to protect yourself as much as possible.
- Limit “Who can look me up?” to friends only.
- Don't let search engines link to your Timeline.
- Review all messages or photos you've been tagged in.
- Limit who can see your future posts.
