A new very nasty hoax is currently circulating on the internet via Facebook. The hoax presents a photo of a baby who is overweight and promises money that is supposedly going to the baby's treatment.
The company that promises it is listed in the circulating photo. We contacted them because after a brief investigation on their Facebook page and also on their official website there is no reference to this particular child.
We haven't received a response from the company yet, but a reputable company wouldn't use this method to promote their page. There would be a reference on their official pages somewhere. As soon as they reply, we will inform you. However, be careful where you place your likes. Before you also help spread a hoax, do some research: is what they are serving you true? Use your critical judgment so you don't easily fall into traps.
And something else very important, by checking this particular photo on Google, we discovered a lot of them but all with a different title and publication. Take a look.
The ugly prank has so far amassed 800 shares, 1000 likes and (from comments) don’t ask. The public's willingness to help is touching, and the way the prankster used it is very clever. By playing with the audience's emotion he achieves his purpose: he sees his prank spreading.
