This article is for those who like to read data analysis, such as the hypothesized one. If you like it then continue reading. According to a study by Investing Analytics, the iPhone 5 was mentioned on Twitter more times at its launch than the Galaxy S4 was on its corresponding announcement date.
The iPhone wasn't just more popular on the day of its announcement, but the day after, it was mentioned five times more than Samsung's latest smartphone, according to the research. The iPhone was mentioned in 2.4 million tweets, while the Galaxy S4 was mentioned in about 400,000 tweets. These numbers may prove meaningless pending sales figures for Samsung's superphone.
If the Samsung Galaxy S4 far outsells the iPhone 5, it will prove that the Twitter data is just numbers and the prediction based on tweets is naive. Until then, we can claim that Apple has won the Twitter battle and remains a popular device among consumers.
