Kim Dotcom 's recent service , Mega, has caused a lot of controversy. The website is not working properly after some security issues were identified and Anonymous has turned their back on it, calling Kim Dotcom a traitor.
A year after US authorities took down Megaupload, the Anonymous movement actively supported Kim Dotcom. They showed their support for the file-sharing service by launching several denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks against the FBI, the Department of Justice, the White House, and various other anti-piracy domains.
But things have changed. Anonymous announced that they are boycotting Mega because Kim Dotcom helped US authorities shut down several other file-sharing websites.
“Why is Kim DotCom free, when other file-sharing website administrators are still rotting in prison? BECAUSE HE NAILED THEM,” Anonymous reports, and Wired reveals, detailing the cooperation between Megaupload and US authorities.
“In solidarity with NinjaVideo , whose owners are rotting in prison after Kim DotCom ‘handed them over’ to DHS, we call on you to boycott all #MEGA services,” YourAnonNews wrote on Twitter. “Megaupload actively cooperated with the investigation. The crime of pirates on pirates is unacceptable.”

As part of this boycott, some hackers claim to have already launched DDOS attacks against the website.
Anonymous isn't Mega's only problem. As we reported yesterday, a number of security experts have begun pointing out various security issues: encryption keys are stored on the website, but also at least two cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities.
Additionally, a researcher claims to have developed a tool, called MegaCracker, which is capable of revealing the hashes of passwords embedded in the new login confirmation email.
