Domino's, which is now one of the largest and most popular pizza and restaurant chains in the world, is removing the British version of its app from the store, with no further plans to make anything else for Windows 10 or Windows 10 Mobile.
It's still unclear whether the other local versions of the app will also be removed - but it's very likely, as it seems Domino's wants to leave the platform completely.
In emails sent to registered Domino's app users in the UK and Ireland, the company informs of its decision, but does not explain why.
Domino's is most likely abandoning Windows Phone for the same reason as everyone else: its declining market share is living proof that investing in an app for Windows mobile devices couldn't possibly make sense, cost-wise.
Domino's isn't the only company to have left the store in recent months. Amazon and PayPal have both removed their apps from Windows Phone recently and have advised their users to use the web-based version if they want to continue using their services. The same could be true for Domino's, although we all know that an app is more convenient and easier to use.
Unfortunately, Domino's is unlikely to be the last name to abandon Windows Phone.
