Amazon's official "goodbye" to Windows Phones

As we know, Windows Phone users have lost several important apps in the last few weeks and now it is officially known that another leading company is removing its app from the store.

Amazon, after weeks of uncertainty, confirms the discontinuation of the Windows Phone app, but the company did not want to give reasons to explain its decision.
Amazon has already started sending e-mails to users who had already installed the Windows Phone app to inform them of the change, but also to refer them to the official website, which is supposed to let them make their purchases even without the special application.

“Our records indicate that you have installed the Amazon App for Windows Phone from the Microsoft App Store. We will remove the app you currently have on your device, which means its content will no longer be able to be updated. You will still have access to the app until August 15, 2016. We recommend that you visit Amazon.co.uk from your mobile browser, where you will be able to access the latest features for your purchases.”

It looks like Amazon will indeed remove its app from the Windows Phone store on August 15th, and while some people believe the company will create another universal app for Windows 10, it's hard to believe that this can actually happen, despite the fact that Amazon has been a supporter of Windows 8 from the beginning.
For now, however, everything seems to be going badly for Windows Phone, with Microsoft itself revealing a decline in its revenue through the company's recent financial report.
