The establishment of a Cybercrime Research & Security Institute, which will operate throughout the country and will be aimed at people related to technology and the internet, was announced yesterday from Chania by the Major General of the Hellenic Police, Deputy Chief of Staff and Supervisor of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, Manolis Sfakianakis.
Mr. Sfakianakis' announcement was made at the historic "Kipos" cafe in Chania, where the Hanioti Major General of the Hellenic Police shared his unique experiences in investigating cybercrimes, as well as the future of new technologies, through his career in the Hellenic Police from 1995 to the present, during the presentation - discussion, which took place on the occasion of the publication of the books "The Code of the Internet" by Emmanuel Sfakianakis and "The Keys of the Internet" by Emmanuel Sfakianakis and Ioannis Makrypoulias.
The author encouraged everyone to be active members of the internet without demonizing it and to make sure they are aware of the dangers and pitfalls it hides.
