A serial robber has been arrested in England after one of his victims identified him in the Facebook "People you may know" section.
21-year-old Omar Famuyide has a long history of theft and armed robbery. Not long ago, Famuyide stole a car while threatening the victim with a knife. A short time later, the victim of the robbery in question was shocked to see the robber's face appear as a suggested friend on Facebook.

The victim quickly called the police, who quickly linked him to a number of other violent crimes. Famuyide was eventually sentenced to 17 years in prison. Some of the charges against him included robbery, attempted robbery, and possession of a firearm.
"Previous detective work helped us and we managed to gather enough evidence to link the different elements and crimes but we had not found the name of the perpetrator," said one of the detectives involved in the investigation last week.
“It was the most crucial part of the investigation that one of the victims contacted us after recognizing Omar Famuyide on Facebook and it was the final piece of the puzzle we were trying to solve!”
