From surfing the web to searching for help on a project you've been assigned, or gathering information, it's now very difficult to imagine our lives without the internet. But really, how many of us know these interesting facts that we're going to present to you today?

FACT 6. Approximately 204 million emails are sent over the Internet every minute, and 70% of all these emails are spam. Around 2 billion electrons are required to produce a single email.

FACT 7. The internet requires 50 million horsepower to keep running as it is right now.

In 2005, broadband internet peaked at 2 megabits per second. Today, download speeds of 100Mbps  are available in many parts of the world. But experts warn that we have now reached our limits and that optical fibers cannot handle any more data.

FACT 8. The first tweet was made on March 21, 2006 by Jack Dorsey and the first YouTube video uploaded was “Meet At Zoo” at 8:27 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2005 by Jawed Karim.

FACT 9. Around 9 million adults in Britain and a third of Italians have never used the internet. Imagine! While there are rehab clinics for internet addicts in China, a large part of the world's population has never been online!

FACT 10. The majority of internet traffic is not generated by humans, but by bots and malware. According to a recent study conducted by Incapsula, 61.5% or almost two-thirds of all website traffic is generated by Internet bots.
