How would it seem to you if YouTube acquired a messenger? As it appears, YouTube already has an instant messaging service, but for now it is available only to a few users.
Obviously, access is expected to increase in the next period.
According to a Wired publication, YouTube has started testing a new “native sharing” feature in mobile apps, allowing users to share videos more easily without having to copy and paste URLs or switch between multiple apps.
The highlight of this new feature is that it allows users to submit their remarks on videos as part of a private conversation, but comments can also appear publicly.
The new service can actually turn YouTube into an instant messaging service, similar to Facebook and Twitter, in the sense that it will support communication among a selected group.
It is a clever business strategy of YouTube, as users will no longer need to leave the app to chat with their friends, which means less traffic to competitors.
The new chat service of YouTube is currently available in a very limited way and the company has not yet announced when it will become available worldwide.
