And yet, it's not just a dream, since there are at least 100 professional video game players in the world who earn over $100,000 in prizes from the various tournaments they participate in.
Top players also earn other money from sponsorships, while their profits are also large from the live broadcast of these tournaments.
Korean Lee Jae Dong is the richest professional video gamer. He started with Brood War before moving to StarCraft 2 in 2012, and has been the top StarCraft player since mid-2013.
Lee 'Jaedong' Jae Dong has won $519,086.72 from the 52 tournaments he has participated in.
