If you received a message stating that a dangerous virus was detected in your personal Yahoo Mail email account, simply ignore it, as it is yet another ploy by cybercriminals to scam you.
Hoax Slayer has identified a new spam campaign, which is based on sending misleading messages, which are supposed to come from Yahoo and inform recipients that a dangerous virus called DSVX Virus has been detected in their e-mail, so they should update their account.
The email warns users that if they do not upgrade immediately, they will lose access to their email address. The message also states that the new update provides users with anti-spam protection, faster email, and unlimited storage.
To update their email, users are asked to send their username, id, password, country, phone number, date of birth, their account security question, and the answer to it.
Of course, these messages are in no way related to Yahoo, which would never ask you to send sensitive data via an insecure email message.
